Pricing & Payment
Appointments must be booked in advance and are subject to availability. Pricing may vary depending on breed, size, coat condition, temperament or time required which will be discussed upon booking. A £10 deposit is required to confirm your appointment. This is non-refundable but may be transferred to another date if cancellation occurs with at least 48 hours’ notice. The remaining balance is due on the day of the appointment, either by cash or card.
Cancellations, No Shows & Late Arrivals
To ensure a calm, one-to-one grooming experience, a minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made within 48 hours, or failure to attend (no-shows), will result in the deposit being retained. Future bookings may require full prepayment if a no-show occurs. Please arrive on time, as clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule. I will usually notify you around 10 minutes before your dog is ready for collection. If additional notice is required, this can be arranged at drop-off. Late collection of dogs beyond 30 minutes may incur a £10 charge for every additional 15-minutes. These policies are in place to protect your dog, other clients, and the smooth running of The Grooming Suite.
Matting Policy
Under the Animal Welfare Act (2006), it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal; this includes prolonged or painful de-matting. If your dog is severely matted or matted in multiple areas, I will need to clip the coat short humanely or advise that you see your vet to do the same. Matting can cause severe discomfort, pain and serious health risks such as sores and infections so shaving the coat is often the kindest and safest solution for the dog’s wellbeing. Removing matting requires additional time, skill and can cause damage to tools and equipment, therefore, a matting surcharge will apply. This will be discussed with you either before the appointment or during the groom depending on when the extent of matting is identified. To help prevent matting, I strongly recommend regular brushing at home and maintaining a consistent grooming schedule. I'm always happy to advise on a suitable care routine between grooms.
Flea/Tick Policy
All dogs must be free from fleas when attending their appointment. If fleas are found during the groom, a £10 fee will be added to the cost of the groom to cover sanitising and flea treatment of the salon. The session may also be stopped depending on severity. Please check your dog for fleas beforehand and contact me to reschedule with at least 48 hours notice to avoid a cancellation fee. If tick(s) are found during the groom, I will only remove them with owner consent, however additional fees may apply.
Client Responsibilities & My Duty of Care
It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure their dog is fully vaccinated and that any pre-existing health conditions, injuries, behavioural issues or sensitivities are disclosed prior to the appointment taking place. I do not accept dogs that are pregnant, in season or have transmissible diseases; this is for the safety of your dog and others. I reserve the right to refuse, cancel or terminate a groom if there is a risk of injury to myself or the dog. Where necessary, a muzzle may be used briefly to ensure everyone’s safety. Unfortunately, I am unable to groom breeds that are restricted under my insurance policy.
A matting release form will need to be signed at the initial appointment. If matting is identified during the groom, I will contact you to discuss appropriate course of action.
Whilst every precaution and the highest level of care is taken, accidents can happen. Minor injuries, such as nail quickening or small cuts will be treated immediately and appropriately. In the event of a medical emergency, I may seek immediate veterinary attention if the owner or emergency contact cannot be reached. Liability cannot be accepted for issues relating to pre-existing conditions or unforeseen reactions. Any veterinary costs remain the owner's responsibility unless negligence is proven.
Please ensure your dog has the opportunity to go to the toilet before their appointment. A comfortable, relieved dog will have a more relaxed grooming experience, and it helps to maintain a clean and hygienic salon.
